1. What RupeeX is
RupeeX is a technology platform that lets freelancers, agencies, businesses and IT exporters based in Pakistan (each a “user”) generate an invoice for international clients, collect payment from that client via card, ACH bank debit, or USDC, and receive the equivalent value in Pakistani Rupees. RupeeX is a software intermediary, not the payment processor (that role is filled by RupeeX's payment partner), the wallet custodian (that role is filled by Privy's non-custodial infrastructure), or a bank.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be able to form a binding contract to use RupeeX. Access to your workspace requires signing in with Google via Privy, which creates a non-custodial embedded wallet on your behalf. You are responsible for maintaining control of the Google account used to sign in, since it is currently the only way to access your RupeeX workspace and invoice history.
3. Identity and bank verification (KYC/KYB)
Before real payouts go live, users will be required to complete identity verification, and the bank account named on an invoice will need to be verified as belonging to that user or their business, as part of RupeeX's anti-money-laundering (AML) program. Access to real payouts is conditioned on completing this verification; RupeeX may suspend or hold an account's payouts pending it, or if verification cannot be completed.
4. Invoices and payment collection
- Users are responsible for the accuracy of invoice details they enter, including the amount, description, and destination bank account (bank name and IBAN).
- The bank account title must match the user's legal name (or registered business name) for settlement to succeed once real payouts are live.
- Clients pay through a payment link generated by RupeeX, processed by RupeeX's payment partner. RupeeX does not store full card numbers or bank account numbers on its own servers — that data is handled directly by the payment partner.
- A network fee is added on top of the invoice amount at checkout, disclosed to the client before payment, and varies by payment method (see the checkout page for current rates).
5. Fees
RupeeX's final fee structure has not been finalized and is not published here yet — see the FAQ for the current status. Any fee shown at checkout today is disclosed to the paying client before payment; it does not represent a final, committed pricing model.
6. Payouts are provisional; disputes and recovery
Card and bank-debit payments can be disputed or reversed by the paying client's bank after the fact. Because of this, a payout from RupeeX is a provisional release of funds, not an unconditional final transfer — new accounts, first invoices, and unusually large invoices may be held for a short review period before payout, and every payout remains reversible under the conditions in the Refund & Dispute Policy until the relevant dispute window closes.
If a dispute against an invoice is lost, RupeeX has the right to set off the disputed amount against that user's future payouts, or invoice them directly if no future payout is available. By using RupeeX, a user agrees to indemnify RupeeX for losses arising from a dispute tied to their own invoice, and affirms that each invoice reflects real, delivered work for a real client relationship.
7. Prohibited use
You agree not to use RupeeX to:
- Invoice for goods or services that don't exist, or for a client relationship that doesn't exist.
- Launder money, finance illegal activity, or evade sanctions or tax obligations.
- Submit false bank account or identity details, or attempt to bypass or falsify identity/bank verification.
- Attempt to interfere with, probe, or disrupt the platform's infrastructure outside of good-faith security research (see the Security page for responsible disclosure).
8. Limitation of liability
RupeeX is provided on an "as is" basis, particularly given its current sandbox status. To the maximum extent permitted by law, RupeeX is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the platform, including losses related to exchange rate movement, third-party processor downtime (payment partners, Privy, or banking rails), or delays in settlement.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the product evolves, particularly as sandbox components become real. Material changes will update the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use RupeeX after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
